One fairly common request we get is the ability to set a Custom Header Image on a per Category or per Tag basis when a Category or Tag archive page is displayed.

Weaver Xtreme will support a variety of custom header images and videos on a Per Page or Per Post basis, but the archive-like pages all use the default image set for the home page.

There is a nice plugin called Unique Headers that allows you to set a custom header image for nearly any page, post, tag archvie, or category archive. It doesn’t seem to have an option for the search, author, 404, date archives and some other archive-like pages. But the most common request seems to be for the Category or Tag page.

We’ve tested this plugin, and it seems to work most of the time to replace the image. It is possible to get conflicts with Weaver Xtreme options if you’ve specified non-default options for the Header Image. For example, specifying to display the header image as a BG image will conflict with this plugin, as does specifying a header image replacement with the Featured Image. But when used with Category or Tag, there doesn’t seem to be any issue.
